Home Insurance in Florida and Good News about Citizens

Here in Brevard county and many other coastal counties in Florida, there are a ton of well maintained but older waterfront homes that were built between 1965 and 1972, many of which have aluminum wiring. Historically the problem with this type of wiring has been the aluminum-to-cooper connections, which over time become an increased fire hazard compared to an all cooper wired home. Subsequently Citizens like many other property insurance companies determined that these homes would be considered ineligible to insure. Fortunately there are now some exceptions.
